FAQ
Jewellery Care
Follow the general rule of 'last on, first off' Jewellery should be the last step when getting ready for your day and first thing to take off when your finished.
Proper care ensures your jewellery remains beautiful for years. Here’s how to maintain your silver, gold, and gemstone pieces.
Silver Jewellery
Sterling silver is a soft metal that requires gentle handling.
-
Avoid damage – Remove before exercising, lifting heavy objects, or doing strenuous activities.
-
Protect from chemicals – Keep away from perfumes, cleaning products, chlorine and prolonged wear in salt water which accelerate tarnishing.
-
Prevent tarnish – Silver naturally oxidises over time but can be polished with a soft cloth and stored in an airtight container to maintain its shine.
9ct Gold Jewellery
9ct gold is more durable than silver but still needs care.
-
Minimise wear – Remove before heavy impact activities to avoid scratches or dents.
-
Keep away from chemicals – Cleaning agents, beauty products, chlorine and prolonged wear in salt water as this can tarnish and weaken the metal.
-
Clean gently – Use warm soapy water and a soft cloth to maintain its lustre.
Gemstones & Pearls
Some stones require extra care, particularly porous gems and pearls.
-
Porous stones (e.g., opals, turquoise, emeralds) – Avoid prolonged exposure to water, oils, and harsh chemicals to prevent discolouration.
-
Pearls – Keep away from perfumes, sweat, and oils. Wipe with a soft cloth after wear and store separately to prevent scratches.
-
Cleaning – Use a damp cloth for delicate stones and a mild soap solution for others.
With the right care, your jewellery will remain a treasured piece for years to come.
Do You Offer Ring Resizing?
Generally yes, but it is design dependant. Resizing some of my designs would compromise their structural integrity. If you're interested in getting a ring in a different size just fill out my contact form and I'll get back to you ASAP.
I can always make you a custom ring that can be made in any size. It’s so important to get an accurate size before placing an order, as resizing multiple times can weaken jewellery over time.
How to Find Your Correct Ring Size
-
Visit a jewellery store to be professionally sized—ideally trying both thin and wide bands, as they can feel different.
-
Alternatively, a ring sizer can be purchased for $5, which will be deducted from your ring purchase if you proceed with a design.
Factors That Affect Ring Size
Finger size naturally fluctuates due to:
-
Temperature – Hands swell in heat and shrink in cold.
-
Travel & Altitude – Airplane travel can cause temporary swelling.
-
Weight Changes & Pregnancy – Weight gain, loss, or pregnancy can affect ring fit over time.
Since proper sizing is essential, a $50 resizing fee applies for adjustments greater than one full size up or down. To ensure the best fit, consider sizing your finger at different times of the day in a comfortable temperature.
